Most of us have bad posture, even though our mother’s and grandmother’s probably told us off about it many times! We get complacent sitting in front of a computer, on the couch or even whilst walking. This can have a great impact on your neck and mean the difference between a happy or grumpy neck. A grumpy neck causes us pain which can also result in bigger problems such as headaches and feeling sick and irritable.
Stress can also play a big part in how happy our neck ends up. Do you find that when you are under stress you get more headaches, have trouble sleeping and are also irritable? The tension we carry through our neck tightens the muscles and in time they remain that way which can mean these problems will hang around until you take action to relieve the tension. By trying to ignore it, that can often make the problem worse.
